ZENITH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM PAUSE, PLANS FOR 2026

October 8, 2025

Since 2020, the Zenith Canada Pathways Foundation has worked to deliver an internship and mentorship program to foster a community of highly-motivated young space professionals in Canada. Unfortunately, this year after much reflection, the Zenith Fellowship program will not be opening the application for the Class of 2026. As a fully volunteer-run not-for-profit organization, the team has decided to pause the program to take a break, reflect on the program and organization structure, and return in the future to deliver the program with a stronger foundation. We will continue to facilitate some opportunities through the end of 2025 and into 2026 to support professional development and community engagement with more details to come.

Annually, the Zenith Fellowship program accepts applications in the fall, and the volunteer-run program facilitates an EDI-focussed selection process through the fall into the new year. The process concludes with matching Fellows to internship positions at Host Organizations from across the Canadian space sector, and to a Canadian mentor from the global space community. Approximately 100 Zenith Fellows have launched their careers in the space sector through the program, positively impacting the industry, and continuing to make change in their communities. As we reflect during this pause, the goal of the Zenith Canada Pathways Foundation is to continue to support the community and grow our impact on the Canadian space sector sustainably in the years to come.

We are grateful to our entire community of Host Organizations, Supporting Organizations, Mentors, Volunteers, Alumni, and supporters who have helped with our success over the past 5 years. We hope we are able to take this time to rest and reset so that we can continue to build a more inclusive space sector.
